As any vital body organ, the kidneys are also very important and are vital for survival. The kidneys filter 120-150 quarts of blood approximately to produce 1-2 quarts of urine, and thus eliminate the waste and the extra fluid from the body.

This is only one of the many vital functions the kidneys perform in the body, and the rest of them include: preventing accumulation of waste in the body, producing hormones that regulate the blood pressure, producing blood cells, keeping the electrolyte levels stable, and maintaining the bones strong.
